QUICK FACTS

  • Marpet was a second round (61st overall) pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2015 NFL Draft. No Division III student-athlete had been chosen higher than 75th overall prior to his selection.
  • Marpet is the first Statesman to play in the NFL since Fred King '37 appeared in one game for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1937.
  • Marpet had an NFL connection even before his collegiate career was over. Hobart's starting quarterback during his junior and senior seasons was Patrick Conlan, whose father Shane played nine seasons in the NFL for the Bills and Rams.
  • In addition to being named to several All-America teams, Marpet was also the 2014 Liberty League Co-Offensive Player of the Year. He was the first offensive lineman to earn that award in the history of the conference.
  • Marpet earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Hobart.
  • Through 13 regular season games (he missed three games due to injury) and three playoff games this season, Marpet has not allowed a sack. In fact, he's only allowed one sack in the past two seasons combined (Week 6 of the 2019 season).
  • During his first two seasons in Tampa, Marpet played right guard. He moved to center for his third season and is now in his third season at left guard.
