Ranieri, Kent honored by Liberty League
Liberty League Squash
Two members of the Hobart College squash team were honored by the Liberty League office this afternoon. Sophomore Carl Ranieri (Bronxville School/Bronxville, N.Y.) was named the Performer of the Week, while first-year Kevin Kent (Trinity-Pawling/New York, N.Y.) was tabbed the league’s Rookie of the Week.

Ranieri won three of four matches over the weekend. He recorded the only Hobart win in an 8-1 loss to Denison on Saturday, and won again later in the day in a 5-4 victory over Northwestern. Ranieri played both of Saturday’s matches at No. 9. On Sunday, he won at No. 8 in the Statesmen’s 9-0 win over Columbia.

Kent earned two wins in his first weekend of collegiate squash competition. He posted both victories at No. 7 in Hobart’s wins over Northwestern and Columbia.

The Statesmen hold a 2-2 overall record after their first weekend of competition. Hobart will be in action again this weekend, Nov. 22-23, when the Statesmen travel to Vassar to compete in the Liberty League Championships.
