Two members of the Hobart College soccer team collected weekly Liberty League honors today. Sophomore midfielder Chris King was tabbed the league’s Co-Offensive Performer of the Week, while first-year midfielder Alex Kittelberger was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week.

King netted Hobart’s lone goal in a 2-1 double-overtime loss to Swarthmore in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. The Statesmen nearly made the goal stand up despite playing a man-down for the entire second half, and part of the first. The tally marked King’s third of the year.

Kittelberger tallied Hobart’s second goal, the eventual game-winner, in a 2-1 victory over St. Joseph’s of Long Island in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday. He scored his team-high sixth goal of the year in the 47th minute, putting away a loose ball in front of the net.

The Statesmen closed out the season holding a 15-4-2 overall record, after making the program’s fifth NCAA Tournament appearance.
