William Smith senior Kaitlyn Hamilton and first-year Annie Kietzman were among the student-athletes to be named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-North Atlantic teams. Hamilton earned her third consecutive first team nod, while Kietzman received second team honors.

Hamilton, who earned a spot on the second team as a first year, finished her career with 48 goals and 18 assists in 77 games. She ranks sixth at William Smith in career goals, 15th in assists, and seventh in points (114).

A four-year starter, Hamilton was tied for second on the team with nine goals and five assists this season. The four-time All-Liberty League selection will complete her career on Nov. 22 at Mount Holyoke College in the NFHCA Senior All-Star Game.

The Liberty League Rookie of the Year, Kietzman led William Smith with 25 points on 10 goals and five assists. She’s the first first-year to lead the Herons in points since current assistant coach Sophie Dennis ’07 produced 37 points in her inaugural season. Kietzman scored more goals than any other rookie in the conference (8th overall) and ranked seventh in the league in points. She netted a goal in each of William Smith’s final three matches (Skidmore, Union, Geneseo) and recorded a season-high four points in three consecutive matches (Oswego, Oneonta, Ithaca). Kietzman was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week five times.

The Herons finished this season with a 9-8 overall record, the program’s 25th consecutive winning season. William Smith hasn’t had a losing season since 1983.
