Hobart junior linebacker Kyle O’Laughlin was named the Liberty League Football Co-Defensive Performer of the Week today by the conference office. It’s the second consecutive week he has shared the award.

O’Laughlin recorded a team-high 10 tackles and forced a fumble as the Statesmen held the Liberty League’s No. 1 scoring offense 8.1 points below its season average. O’Laughlin, who’s third in the league in tackles per game (9.1), counted seven solo stops among his 10 tackles in a 41-20 triumph at WPI.

Hobart (4-3, 3-2) is back in action at noon on Nov. 7, when the Statesmen host Rensselaer (4-3, 2-3). The Engineers lead the all-time series 26-25-1. Hobart won last season’s showdown 20-17 in Troy thanks to a 37-yard field goal by sophomore Conor Callahan as time expired. Rensselaer won the last meeting in Geneva, 35-31 on a touchdown with 9 seconds remaining.

Fans can follow Hobart’s final home game on WEOS-FM (89.7/90.3) and online with Live Stats.
