Kaitlyn Hamilton is one of 38 NCAA Division III student-athletes selected to play in the 2009 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Senior All-Star Game. The contest will be played at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 22, at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass.
Hamilton played in all 77 games for William Smith over the past four seasons, starting 74 in a row after coming off the bench in her first three collegiate matches. She finished her career with 48 goals and 18 assists for 114 points. Hamilton ranks sixth in Heron history in goals scored, seventh in points, and 15th in assists.
A three-time NFHCA All-Region and All-Liberty League selection, Hamilton scored nine goals and assisted on four this season, finishing tied for second on the team in goals and fourth in points. She enjoyed her best season statistically in 2007, recording a league leading 15 goals and 35 points. Hamilton earned a spot on the NFHCA All-America second team that season.
Over the past four seasons, Hamilton and her classmates have led William Smith to a 52-25 record (.675), two Liberty League Championships, and a pair of trips to the NCAA Tournament.
The Herons finished this season with a 9-8 overall record, the program’s 25th consecutive winning season. William Smith hasn’t had a losing season since 1983.
