GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith swimming & diving team defeated visiting Cobleskill 78-55 in Bristol Pool today. Katie Stebbins posted a pair of individual victories and led the Heron 200 medley relay to a first place finish.

Stebbins captured the 200-yard freestyle (2:10.4) and the 100 breaststroke (1:14.03) and teamed with Ariana Vasquez, Casey Sherwin, and Jordan Hawn to win the 200 medley relay in 2:04.77. Hawn got right back in the pool after the opening relay and won the 1,000 free in 12:34.59.

Caitlin O'Brien won the 100 free for William Smith in 1:00.23.

The Fighting Tigers won the 50 free (Megan West), the 200 individual medley (Elizabeth Butler), the 100 backstroke (Kayla Pollack), and the 200 free relay (West, Butler, Tara Belcher, Kimberly Steinberger).

A first-year varsity program, Cobleskill brought only seven swimmers to today's meet, so the Herons swam eight events with exhibition entries. Sherwin posted the fastest times of the day as an exhibition entry in the 50 free (26.51) and the 100 backstroke (1:04.64), while Charlotte Scott turned in the fastest time in the 200 IM (2:27.7). William Smith also had the fastest 200 free relay time of 1:51.53 thanks to the efforts of Scott, Jessica Cook, Kristine Faulknham, and Lauren Morosky.

William Smith will be back in action on Dec. 4-5, when the Herons compete in the Liberty League Championships in Rochester.
