Annie Kietzman to its 2009 Division III All-Rookie Squad. The midfielder led the Herons with 10 goals this season and tied for the team lead with 25 points.
The Liberty League Rookie of the Year, Kietzman was the only first-year to rank in the top 10 in the conference in goals (8th) or points (8th). She was named the league's rookie of the week five out of a possible eight times.
Kietzman scored a season-high four points in three consecutive matches as the Herons toppled Oswego St. (1g-2a), Oneonta State (2-0), and Ithaca (2-0). Her game-winning goal against Geneseo State on Oct. 31, secured William Smith's 25th consecutive winning season.
Kietzman also earned a spot on the All-Liberty League second team as well as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region second team.
The Herons finished the season with a 9-8 overall record.
