Ten members of the William Smith College field hockey team were recently named to the 2009 Liberty League All-Academic Team.
“I admire the team’s commitment and dedication, both in the classroom and on the field,” said
Julie Kingery, assistant professor of psychology. “These student-athletes work extremely hard and are a fine example of William Smith College’s tradition of excellence. It’s an honor to serve as their Faculty Athletic Fellow and I am very proud of their accomplishments.”
To earn a spot on the team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher and be at least a sophomore academically. The following Herons were named to the All-Academic squad:

The Heron field hockey team finished 2009 with a 9-8 overall record, its 25th consecutive winning season. William Smith had five players earn all-conference honors, and was the recipient of the league’s Field Hockey Sportsmanship Award for the second straight year.
