Hobart first-year strong safety
Devin Worthington was named to the
D3football.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware. It's the second time this season that he's been honored
by the website.
In a 40-33 victory at Merchant Marine on Saturday, Worthington produced nine tackles, including eight solo stops. He was also credited with 3.5 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries. Both takeaways resulted in points for the Statesmen.
A starter in all six games this season, Worthington has compiled 50 tackles, 15.0 tackles for a loss, and 7.5 sacks. He is tied for second in the nation in tackles for a loss (2.5/g) and tied for ninth in the nation in sacks (1.25). Worthington is on pace for 22.5 tackles for a loss, which would eclipse the Hobart season record of 22 set by Dave Russell '98 during the 1997 season.
The Statesmen will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 30, when they host WPI on Boswell Field at the Caird Center for Sports and Recreation. Kickoff is scheduled for noon. Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for children under 12.
