William Smith soccer to host NCAA sectional

William Smith College will host the third and quarterfinal rounds of the 2010 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament this weekend, Nov. 20-21. The ninth-ranked Herons will take on 13th-ranked Oneonta State at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, followed by No. 14 Eastern Connecticut State playing No. 9 Williams at 1:30 p.m. The winners will meet on Sunday at 1 p.m. to play for a spot in the semifinal round in San Antonio, Texas.

All three matches will be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7) and have live stats available at www.hwsathletics.com. Ticket prices are $6 for general admission, $3 for senior citizens, students and military personnel with valid ID, and $2 for children ages 3-12. Children 2 and under are free.

The Herons advanced to the sectionals after defeating Keuka, 3-0 in the opening round and picking up a 3-1 win over Scranton in the second round. The Herons have a 16-2-3 overall record in their 24th consecutive postseason appearance and their 21st NCAA Tournament berth.
