Casey Sherwin was named the Liberty League Women's Swimming and Diving Co-Rookie of the Week by the conference office today.
In a tri-meet at Wells with Cazenovia, Sherwin turned in the fastest times of the meet in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100 free and swam a leg on the second place 200 medley relay team. She won the 50 in 27.18, 0.66 seconds over Cazenovia's Emily Kostraba. With the final result of the meet already secured, Sherwin swam the 100 as an exhibition entry, logging a time of 58.60, 0.8 seconds faster than teammate
Lauren Morosky.
The Herons defeated the Express 50-42 and the Wildcats 46-45.
William Smith is back in the pool at 1 p.m. on Feb. 6, when the Herons compete in the Skidmore Sprint Invitational.
