Sherwin factored into both of William Smith’s victories in the three-team meet. She posted the lone individual victory for the Herons, winning the 50-yard butterfly in 29.24 seconds, 0.02 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Sherwin also swam a lap for the winning 200 freestyle relay team that touched the wall in 1:47.06.

Additionally, Sherwin turned in a second-place finish in the 50 backstroke in a time of 30.75, 0.14 seconds off the winning pace, and a third-place effort in the 100 butterfly (1:05.99).

William Smith won the invitational with a score of 232.5, 11 points better than the host Thoroughbreds and 41.5 ahead of Vassar.

William Smith will be back in the pool, Feb. 17-20, when the Herons compete in the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association Championships.
