The William Smith College cross country team was one of 153 Division III women's programs to be named a 2009 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team. This is the 17th consecutive year the Herons have won the award.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet and have a minimum 3.10 cumulative grade point average.
William Smith, which boasted a team GPA of 3.44, won both the SUNYIT Invitational (1st of 9) and the Hobart Invitational (1st of 5) this season. The Herons also registered a third place finish out of 10 teams at the Cross Country Only Conference Championships.
