SAA Board to host meeting of membership

On Sat., May 1, in conjunction with the Hobart vs. Air Force lacrosse game, the Statesmen Athletic Association Board of Directors will host a meeting of the SAA membership.

The meeting will include a brief presentation on the SAA's fund-raising and team support programs followed by a question and answer session. At the conclusion of the meeting, SAA members will have the opportunity to meet with Hobart coaches and enjoy a reception for the 1980 Hobart Lacrosse Team.

7 p.m. Hobart lacrosse vs. Air Force McCooey Field

The Statesmen Tent is an exclusive benefit of membership in the SAA. SAA members are asked to note that the location of the Statesmen Tent has been moved from the Gilman Room to the Barn for the Air Force game only. The Statesmen Tent for Saturday's Loyola game will still be held in Bristol Gym.

Hobart Basketball
Gibbons averaged a team-high 18.5 ppg and 5.5 rpg in a 1-1 week for the Statesmen. He scored 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting, grabbed five rebounds, and recorded two steals at RPI. The following afternoon, Gibbons had 15 points and seven rebounds at Skidmore. For the week, he shot 64 percent from the floor and made all five of his free throw attempts.

Mitchell went 4-0 at the Smith Round Robin over the weekend. Playing in the No. 7 and No. 8 spots in the order, she posted 3-0 sweeps of her opposition against Smith (a 6-3 Heron win), Northeastern (W 8-1), and Wellesley (L, 3-6). Vassar's Katherine Cornish was the only player to take a game from Mitchell this weekend. After dropping the opening game 11-9, Mitchell bounced back with 11-7, 11-3, 11-4 wins to take the match 3-1. She has the team's best individual record this winter (7-5) and has won five straight matches.
