For the ninth time this season, the Hobart rowing team has been presented with the Liberty League Boat of the Week Award by the conference office. The Statesmen varsity eight collected its eighth award with a strong showing at the ECAC Championships.
Hobart finished fifth in the ECAC Grand Final, third among Division III crews, yesterday. The Statesmen covered the 2,000-meter course in 5 minutes, 54.558 seconds, placing fifth just 4.02 seconds off Williams' winning time. Trinity (Conn.) was second, Michigan third, and Marist fourth. WPI rounded out the field, just 0.264 seconds behind Hobart.
The Statesmen qualified for the grand final with a second place finish, behind the Wolverines, in the heats. Hobart's morning time was 6:06.006.
