Hobart collects 9th Boat of the Week Award

For the ninth time this season, the Hobart rowing team has been presented with the Liberty League Boat of the Week Award by the conference office. The Statesmen varsity eight collected its eighth award with a strong showing at the ECAC Championships.

Hobart finished fifth in the ECAC Grand Final, third among Division III crews, yesterday. WPI rounded out the field, just 0.264 seconds behind Hobart.

The Statesmen qualified for the grand final with a second place finish, behind the Wolverines, in the heats. Hobart's morning time was 6:06.006.

The varsity eight was powered by junior coxswain Reynaldo Kelly, senior stroke Andrew Fosbrook, junior Andrew Cobb, junior Jack Trimble, senior Francis Craig, senior Matt Scanlon, junior David Roberts, sophomore Harold Zurakowski, and senior Carmen Cimini.

Hobart will find out next week if it has earned a spot in the 2010 IRA Championships, June 1-3, in Cherry Hill, N.J.
