Five members of the William Smith basketball team earned a spot on the 2009-10 Liberty League All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for the all-academic team, student-athletes must have a full year of attendance at their institution, and carry at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average.

The following Herons were named to the team:

• Senior guard Julie Hooper, anthropology & international relations double major
• Sophomore forward Kristen Kush, chemistry major
• Junior forward Ali Napier, media and society major *
  
• Sophomore forward Carrie Stevens, writing and rhetoric major
• Junior forward Ashlinn Barber, media and society major
  

William Smith was 8-16 overall this season, including a 4-10 mark in the Liberty League. As a team, the Herons won the 2010 Dean's Award, presented to the William Smith team with the highest cumulative grade point average. The basketball squad produced an exceptional cumulative GPA of 3.564.
