Six members of the Hobart rowing team were named to the inaugural ECAC/National Invitational Rowing Championships Stewards' All Academic Team. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35.

The following Statesmen earned a spot on the team:

• Sophomore Michael Copacino, history and religious studies double major
• Junior Owen Henn, sociology and public policy studies double major
• Junior Gerry Samson, philosophy and psychology double major
• Junior Bob Taylor, biology major
• Junior Jack Trimble, economics and environmental studies double major
• Sophomore John Wasmund, undeclared
  

Hobart advanced all four of its entries to the grand finals at the ECAC/NIRC, posting two fourth place finishes and two fifth place finishes. As a team, the Statesmen finished third in the points standings behind Division I Michigan and Trinity (Conn.).

The ECAC/NIRC was the final event of the season for Hobart. The Statesmen won their fifth consecutive Liberty League Championship and claimed a gold and two silver medals at the New York State Championships this season.
