Lucy Johnson were named to the 2010 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Empire Region second team. Fitzgerald is a four-time all-region selection, while Johnson is making her second straight appearance on the All-Empire squad.
A starter in all 15 games, Fitzgerald led William Smith with 38 goals and 16 assists this season. She produced a season-high nine points twice this season. Fitzgerald netted six goals and assisted on three others in a 21-13 win over Geneseo, and she closed out her career with a seven-goal, two-assist performance in a 24-14 win over Skidmore. Fitzgerald also logged 26 ground balls, 26 draw controls, and 11 caused turnovers this year.
A four-time All-Liberty League selection, Fitzgerald finished her collegiate career with 151 goals and 57 assists for 208 points. She also produced 107 ground balls, 86 draws, and 54 caused turnovers. Fitzgerald ranks seventh in career goals and assists and eighth in points and draws.
Also a starter in all 15 games, Johnson scored 33 goals and assisted on six. She finished third on the team in both goals and points. Johnson led the team with 34 draws and logged 31 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. She notched a season-high six points (4-2) in the Herons’ 14-13 upset of then No. 8 Cortland.
Over the past two seasons, Johnson has started all 30 games, recording 70 goals, 19 assists, 67 ground balls, 63 draws, and 23 caused turnovers. She is a two-time All-Liberty League first team pick.
William Smith finished the season with an 8-7 overall record. The Herons were fifth in the Liberty League with a 4-4 mark.
