Molly Fitzgerald was named the Liberty League Co-Offensive Performer of the Week by the conference office this afternoon, after leading the Herons to a 24-14 victory over Skidmore on Saturday. This is the second time she has won the award this spring.
Fitzgerald tied her career highs for goals (7) and points (9) vs. the Thoroughbreds. She also added three ground balls and a caused turnover in her final collegiate contest. For the third year in a row, Fitzgerald finished the season as the team’s offensive leader with 38 goals, 16 assists, and 54 points.
Fitzgerald wrapped her career with 151 goals, including 54 free-position tallies, 57 assists, and 208 points. That ranks her first in the William Smith records book in career free-position goals, seventh goals and assists, and eighth in points.
The Herons posted an 8-7 overall record and finished fifth in the Liberty League regular season standings with a 4-4 mark.
