Bridget Nannig received the sailing team’s top awards at the annual Heron Awards Banquet. Jordan earned the Ady Symonds ’96 Most Valuable Sailing Award, while Nannig garnered the Christine Jurczak ’00 Sailing Coach’s Award.
A 2010 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Crew All-American, Jordan represented Hobart and William Smith in the A Division of the 2010 ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championship and represented William Smith in the B Division of the 2010 ICSA Women’s Dinghy Championship. On the strength of Jordan’s seventh place effort, the Herons matched the program’s best finish in the women’s championship, placing ninth overall.
Jordan played a key role in the Herons’ qualifying for the nationals, placing second in the B Division of the MAISA Women’s Championship, helping the team finished third. She also played an integral role in the HWS team’s qualifying for the ICSA Coed Semifinals, placing third in B Division at the America Trophy regatta.
Jordan also sailed for HWS in the 2008 and 2009 ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championships.
In her first season as a collegiate sailor, Nannig was the crew for HWS in the B Division at the ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championship. She finished in third place in the B Division at the ICSA Western Semifinal Regatta. An impact sailor from Day 1, Nannig won the B Division of the Cornell Open, her first collegiate regatta.
The Hobart and William Smith sailing team was 12th in the nation in the latest Sailing World College rankings. HWS finished 11th in the ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championship, following a sixth place showing in the ICSA Western Semifinal. William Smith was ranked 12th in the nation as well in
Sailing World’s women’s ranking.
