The 2010 fall schedules for the Hobart Statesmen and the William Smith Herons have been posted on the Colleges’ website. HWS’ 13 fall slates feature 45 home contests, including the Sept. 25 dedication of the Caird Center for Sports and Recreation during Family and Homecoming Weekend.
Made possible by the extraordinary generosity of James F. ’56 and Cynthia L. Caird, the Caird Center for Sports and Recreation will unite several keystone elements of the Colleges’ athletics and recreation facilities, including newly resurfaced Boswell Field, the enhanced Froelich Gatehouse, and the expanded Elliott Varsity House. The Caird Center for Sports and Recreation will provide much-needed boundary definition for the western-edge of campus and become a destination for visiting teams and campus guests, including prospective students.
The dedication will be centered on the Hobart-St. John Fisher football game, which is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. It will be the first home football game to be played under the lights in the 116-season history of the program. The Statesmen, who will be seeking their 13th consecutive winning season, will also host Dickinson (Sept. 11), Union (Oct. 9), WPI (Oct. 30), and Rochester (Nov. 13).
