Two more Hobart lacrosse players recently learned they would be traveling to Manchester, England, to compete in the 2010 World Lacrosse Championships. Midfielder

Mike White earned a spot on the Iroquois National Team roster, joining goalie
Evan Kirk, who made Team Canada’s roster.
“It’s an honor to be able to represent my heritage and have an opportunity to play against the best in the world,” Lazore said, a sentiment that White echoed.
“It means a lot to be on the team representing my nation, my family, and Hobart lacrosse,” White said. “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m grateful to be selected. And to be there with Evan and Mike is pretty cool.”
Lazore is expected to be a two-way midfielder for the Iroquois. At 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, he boasts a blend of athleticism, strength, and versatility. Lazore played in all 14 games for Hobart this season, starting 12. He was sixth on the team with 12 points on nine goals and three assists. Lazore also recorded 13 ground balls and six caused turnovers. He completed his collegiate lacrosse career with 27 goals, 10 assists, 37 ground balls, and 12 caused turnovers in 56 games.
Lazore will return to Hobart in the fall as a wide receiver on the football team. He has 22 receptions for 233 yards over the past two seasons.
An alternate at midfielder for the Iroquois in Manchester, White has played in 23 games for Hobart, scoring five goals and assisting on three more. He previously played for the Iroquois National Team at the 2008 U19 World Championships, winning a bronze medal.
The Iroquois National Team is drawn from the Tuscarora, Mohawk, Oneida, Seneca, Ojibway, Cayuga, Cherokee, and Onondaga Nations. Lazore and White are both representing the Oneida.
The Iroquois will play in the top division at the World Championship, opening the tournament on July 15, against the host nation. Lazore and White will square off with Kirk and Team Canada on July 19. The Iroquois schedule also includes games against Japan (July 17), the United States (July 18), and Australia (July 20).
In the 2006 World Championship, the Iroquois finished fourth, falling to Australia in the bronze medal game.
