The Hobart College rowing team's varsity eight was named the Liberty League Boat of the Week by the conference office today. The Statesmen finished 11th out of 40 crews in the collegiate eight event at the Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday.

Reid Johnson, the Statesmen covered the 5,000-meter course in 15:45.85, trailing 10th place Boston College by just 1.28 seconds. Hobart was the fastest New York State entry, finishing ahead of Marist, Army, Colgate, and St. Lawrence.
The Statesmen have earned at least a share of the Boat of the Week award following each of their three regattas this fall. Biesemeyer, McNamara, and Monahan have been in all three award winning crews, while Holtz and Mueller have been recognized twice.
Hobart is back on the water on Saturday, Oct. 29, when the Statesmen compete in the Head of the Fish.
