SYRACUSE, N.Y.—The Hobart novice eight brought home a bronze medal from the Syracuse Invitational this morning. The Statesmen posted a third place finish against a field that included entries from Syracuse, Cornell, Colgate, and Rochester.

In the men's freshmen eight event, Hobart's novice eight covered the 3-mile Onondaga Lake course in 17:19.9. Cornell's B entry won the race in 16:46.4 followed by Syracuse in 16:59.8. Cornell's A entry was 8.6 seconds behind the Statesmen. Hobart's second novice eight placed eighth in the 11-boat field.

The Statesmen also entered a pair of crews in the men's varsity four event. The Statesmen A entry turned in a time of 19:19.8, while the B boat logged a time of 19:34.9. They placed 13th and 14th, respectively, in a field of 15.

The Syracuse Invitational was Hobart's final event of the fall racing season.
