The Hobart rowing team's novice eight was named the Liberty League Boat of the Week by the conference office today.
 
The Statesmen earned a bronze medal in the freshmen eight event at the Syracuse Invitational on Saturday. The Statesmen covered the 3-mile course in 17:19.9. Only Cornell B and Syracuse A bested Hobart in the 11 boat field that also included Colgate and Rochester. The novice eight was powered by Nick Snow, Robert McNamara, Owen Monahan, W. Hunter Holtz, Nicholas Baca, Chris Troy, Nick Hindle, Nick Faiello, and Joe Biesemeyer.
 
It's the fifth time this season that Hobart has earned the Boat of the Week award, the second time the novice eight has been recognized.
