For the second time in as many seasons, Hobart College lacrosse faceoff specialist
Bobby Dattilo was named to the Face-Off Yearbook preseason All-America teams. After receiving honorable mention prior to the start of the 2011 season, he moved up to the second team for 2012.
A 2011 All-ECAC first team pick, Dattilo led the conference and ranked third in the nation in faceoff winning percentage with a Hobart season record .649 success rate. He also paced the ECAC and ranked eighth in the nation in ground balls per game (6.64). Only two Division I Statesmen have collected more ground balls in a season than Dattilo's 93 in 2011. Against then sixth-ranked Cornell, he collected a career-high 14 ground balls and won 18-of-24 at the X in addition to scoring a goal. Dattilo won a season-high 21 faceoffs, picked up nine ground balls and dished out a pair of assists against Bellarmine.
In 38 career games, Dattilo has four goals and eight assists for 12 points. He ranks fifth with 191 career ground balls, 72 off Hobart's Division I record. One of only three Division I Statesmen to win 400 career faceoffs, Dattilo is 31 shy of Tim Booth's record 459 victories while Dattilo's career winning percentage (.588) is ahead of Booth's career benchmark (.565).
