Dattilo, Miller earn All-ECAC accolades

Season Highlights

Hobart junior midfielder Bobby Dattilo and junior attackman Sam Miller earned 2011 all-conference honors in a vote of the ECAC Lacrosse League's head coaches. Dattilo is just the third Statesman to garner first team honors, while Miller merited a spot on the second team.

Through May 1, Dattilo ranks fourth in the nation in faceoff winning percentage and eighth in ground balls per game. He led the league in both categories, besting his opponent at the X 64.9 percent of the time, while collecting a team-high 93 ground balls (6.64/g). Since Hobart joined Division I in 1995, no Statesman has had a higher success rate or won more faceoffs (192-of-296) than Dattilo, while his ground ball total is the third highest during that time frame, trailing only Alex Mitchell '99 (100 in 1997) and Eric Curry '96 (115 in 1996).

Dattilo won a career-high 21 faceoffs (out of 26) against Bellarmine this season. He collected a career-high 14 ground balls at then No. 6 Cornell.

Dattilo will enter his senior season with a .588 career winning percentage and 191 ground balls. His winning percentage is 23 points higher than Hobart's Division I record (.565, Tim Booth '03), while he ranks fifth among DI Statesmen in ground balls, 72 off the record.

Miller led the Statesmen in goals (26) and points (30) this season. He ranked seventh in the league in goals per game (1.86). Miller notched at least one point in every game this season, and ran his overall streak to 24 games dating back to March 20, 2010. He logged six hat tricks this season, including three-goal efforts against nationally ranked Bucknell (then No. 19 in the media poll) and Denver (then No. 12 in both polls).

Miller will enter his senior season with 43 goals and eight assists. A season similar to 2011 would rank him among the top 10 goal scorers in Hobart's Division I history.

Hobart was 5-9 overall this season, a two-game improvement over 2010. The Statesmen were 2-4 in the ECAC.
