William Smith sophomore goalie
Maggie McNair was tabbed the Liberty League Women's Lacrosse Co-Defensive Performer of the Week as announced by the conference office late on Monday.
In just her second collegiate start, McNair stopped nine shots and allowed just three goals, as the Herons defeated Nazareth 14-3 in their season opener on Saturday. She also picked up four ground balls and caused a turnover in the victory.
McNair leads the Liberty League in goals against average (3.00) and save percentage (.750). Her nine saves are a career-high.
William Smith will be back in action on Monday, March 19, when the Herons take on Williams in their first game during their spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. The Herons will also play No. 16 Amherst on Thursday, March 22 at 4 p.m.
