Hobart College sophomore attackman
Alex Love was named the ECAC Lacrosse League Offensive Player of the Week by the conference office today. He scored a career-high matching five goals, including what proved to be the game winner, as Hobart defeated Bellarmine 14-13.
With Hobart trailing the Knights 11-10 midway through the fourth quarter, Love netted back-to-back goals just 23 seconds apart to put his team in front. Love netted the game winner, his team-leading fifth man-up goal of the year, with 4:38 remaining. It's the second time this season he has scored five goals in a game.
Love leads the team with 27 goals and shares the team lead with 32 points. He's fifth in the ECAC and 10th in the nation in goals per game (2.7).
Hobart (3-7) will host Syracuse (6-5) on Tuesday, April 17. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:06 p.m. on Boswell Field. Time Warner Cable Sports will televise the game and WEOS-FM (89.7/90.3) will broadcast the annual Kraus-Simmons Trophy game.
