Nine members of the Hobart College football team were recognized by the Statesmen Athletic Association and the Hobart Athletics Department at the annual Block H Dinner on April 23.

Tyre Coleman were all honored.
Muratori received the Bill Middleton Memorial Football award for the second straight year. The award goes to the team's most valuable offensive performer. Muratori earned second team All-Liberty League honors, leading the team in receiving touchdowns (7) and receiving yards (537) and ranking second in total touchdowns (7). He enjoyed his best game of the season at St. John Fisher, making eight catches for 145 yards, and three TDs. Muratori is one of only 10 Statesmen to record 100 career receptions. In 37 career games, he had 112 receptions for 1,676 yards and 17 touchdowns. He ranks fifth in career TDs, sixth in career receiving yards, and seventh in receptions.
The
Bob Toner Defensive MVP Award was presented to Worthington. He was selected to the All-East Region team for the second year in a row. Worthington was unanimously selected the 2011 Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year. He notched 45 tackles, 11.5 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, one interception, two forced-fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. Worthington earned Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week, D3football.com Team of the Week and ECAC North Defensive Player of the Week after posting 10 tackles and 3.5 sacks against Union.
The Robert L. Cullen Memorial Football Award went to
Drake Woodard. A captain and four-time unanimous selection to the All-Liberty League first team, Woodward notched 31 tackles, a career-high 10 pass break ups, and a team-high four interceptions in eight games this season. He led the conference in interception return yards (89) and passes defended (1.75/g) ranked second in interceptions (0.5/g) and was tied for 32nd in the nation in interceptions. Woodward earned D3football.com All-American and All-East honors in 2011. In 37 career games, Woodard recorded 145 tackles, 8.0 tackles for a loss, 30 pass break ups, 12 interceptions, six fumble recoveries, four forced fumbles, and three blocked kicks. He is tied for second in Hobart history in career pass break ups. Woodward was also presented with the
Francis L. “Babe” Kraus '24 Memorial Award as Hobart's most outstanding senior athlete.
The Tyron Football Award was presented to Hatlee for the second straight year, as the team's outstanding lineman. A two-time All-Liberty League pick, Hatlee helped pave the way for an offense that ranked first in the conference in scoring offense (33.6 ppg), first downs (20.9/g), third down conversions (45.6%), sacks against (1.0/g), and time of possession (33:41/g). He was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week once this season. Hatlee only allowed one sack this season.
A team captain, Clifford was presented with the Mike Roberti '90 Memorial Award for character, outstanding sportsmanship, and the positive influence he had on his teammates. Clifford played in nine games recording two receptions for a total of 43 yards. He played in 27 career games, tallying five receptions for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
The Shirley A. Zornow '47 Memorial Award went to Contro for his significant improvement, untiring perseverance, and will to win. The All-Liberty League second team honoree logged 24 tackles, including 2.0 for a loss, two pass break ups, and a fumble recovery this season. He notched a season-high seven stops in the season opener against Dickinson. The 6-foot, 260-pounder clogged rushing lanes and occupied multiple blockers allowing Hobart linebackers to come up and finish off ball carriers. In 21 career games, Contro has 30 tackles and five pass break ups.
Coletta was given the Michael Theodore Sliver '39 Award for superior scholarship, sportsmanship, and perseverance. A starter in all nine games this season, Coletta helped form the nucleus of a veteran offensive line that helped Hobart average 403.0 yards per game. The entire offensive line was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week following the Statesmen's 56-20 win at St. John Fisher that saw Hobart pile up 491 yards of total offense. Coletta, a 6-foot-5, 280-pound left tackle, earned all-conference honors for the first time this season. He played in 21 career games helping the Statesmen compile a 27-11 record over the past four seasons, including two Liberty League Championships and two NCAA playoff appearances.
The Harter Family award was presented to Sandy for his outstanding love of the game and desire to win. A 6-foot-1, 260 pound guard, Sandy was a starter in all 27 games that he played in over the past three years. He
helped Hobart compile a 27-11 record in his Statesmen career, including two Liberty League Championships and two NCAA playoff appearances.
Coleman earned the Rookie Award for Football. The unanimous choice for the Liberty League Rookie of the Year, finished third on the team with 46 tackles, posted a team-high 19 tackles for a loss (second on Hobart's single-season list) and a team-high 13 sacks (also second). He earned Rookie of the Week honors six times during the season. Coleman After posted a season-high three sacks at Union. He also had eight tackles and forced a fumble against the Dutchmen. Coleman was also unanimously voted to the All-Liberty League first team. He also shared the
Abe Solomon Memorial Rookie Award.
Hobart finished the season with a 7-2 record. The Statesmen earned a share of their seventh Liberty League Championship with a 5-1 record. Hobart earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs by virtue of a 41-24 win over co-champion Union. The Statesmen dropped a heart-breaking 35-28 decision in the first round to No. 7 Wesley.
