Joanie Hilton was tabbed the Liberty League Women's Tennis Performer of the Week and first-year
Haley Wolf was selected the Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office today.
Hilton earned victories in both singles and doubles in the Herons' 8-1 win over Ithaca on Thursday. She topped the Bombers' Carly Siegel 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and paired with junior
Kiara Ocasio for an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles. Hilton leads the Herons with a 19-5 singles record. Hilton and Ocasio also have a team-best 17-5 doubles record this season and are riding a 10-match win streak. It's the second time Hilton has earned the award.
Wolf notched her eighth straight singles win against Ithaca. She defeated the Bombers' Kelsey Harness 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5, improving her season record to 17-3. It's the third time Wolf has garner the award this season.
The Herons will be back in action on Friday, May 4 when they begin the 2012 Liberty League Tournament which will be hosted by Vassar.
