Six members of the 2011-12 Hobart tennis team were recently named 2012 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes. In addition, the Statesmen tennis team was one of 48 Division III men's teams to be recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team.
To receive individual honors, a student-athlete must be a varsity letterwinner and have a grade point average of 3.5 for the past academic year. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or higher
The following students represented Hobart:
Kent, Hursh and Green were ITA Scholar-Athletes for four straight years.
The Statesmen finished 2011-12 with a 17-5 record, tying the program mark for wins in a season. Hobart was ranked No. 14 in the Northeast Region by the ITA at the end of the year.
