The Hobart College cross country team finished in seventh place at the Liberty League Championships hosted by Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., this afternoon. First-year
Cal Randle led the Statesmen across the finish line.
Randle completed the 8-kilometer course in 27:30, a new career-best 8k time, to take 49th place out of 125 runners. Sophomore
Mikey Ledyard was the next Hobart finisher. He took 67th place in 28:19. It was also a new career-best 8k time for Ledyard. Senior
Wes Traub finished 71st with a season-best 8k time of 28:34. Sophomore
Patrick Hatheway was right behind him, claiming 72nd place in 28:35, also a season-best 8k. Senior
Nick Schmidt rounded out the top five Statesmen runners. He posted a season-best 8k time of 28:45.
RIT's Matt Giannino won the individual title. He recorded a time of 25:08. St. Lawrence took home the team title with 27 points. RPI came in second with 58 and RIT claimed third with 85.
The Statesmen will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 9, when they compete in the ECAC Championship in Bristol, R.I. The men's race is set to begin at noon.
