The Hobart College tennis team dropped its first match of its spring season 8-1 to Roberts Wesleyan today on the indoor courts in Bristol Field House. The Statesmen are 0-2 overall this season.

Sophomore Michael Fields picked up the lone win for Hobart at No. 5 singles. He defeated Jordan Sadowitz 6-4, 6-4. Fields and senior Bruce Grant came close to a win at the top doubles spot, but were edged 9-7.

The Statesmen will be back in action on March 2, when they host Oneonta at 10 a.m. in Bristol Field House.
