Ten members of the William Smith cross country team earned a place on the 2013 Liberty League All-Academic team. The Herons had more all-academic selections than any other team in the league.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher and be at least a sophomore academically.

- Megan Mohney, Jr., Architectural Studies
- Carly Petroski, Jr., Women's Studies
- Caroline Seybold, So., Undeclared
- Avery Share, Jr., Writing and Rhetoric
Gaucher is making her third straight appearance on the all-academic squad, while Bartlett, Grenen, Mohney, Petroski and Share earned all-academic accolades for the second year in a row.
The Heron cross country team earned the 2014 Dean's List Award as the William Smith team with the highest cumulative grade point average. This year, the Heron harriers earned a cumulative GPA of 3.54. In addition, William Smith was named a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III Cross Country All-Academic Team for the 21st year in a row. The Herons top finishes of 2013 included taking second place at the Hobart Invitational, third at the SUNYIT Invitational and fourth at the CCOC Championship.
