Hobart is 7-3 overall following Saturday's 7-6 overtime win against Northeast Conference rival Wagner on Saturday. Sophomore
Sean Donnelly scored the game-winning goal with one second remaining in OT to give the Statesmen their fourth straight win. Senior attackman
Alex Love leads the team in goals (19) and points (24) while Donnelly and senior
Zach Reed share the team lead with six assists each.
The win over the Seahawks was the third of the season for Hobart that ended in overtime with a 7-6 score. The Statesmen opened NEC play with a 7-6 OT home win over Bryant and then beat Robert Morris on the road 7-6 in OT. It's just the third time in Hobart history that the Statesmen have played three overtime games in one season and the first time they've won all three. The first time was in 1997 when the Statesmen lost three OT games on the road to Notre Dame, Penn State, and Syracuse. The second time was in 2014 when Hobart beat Canisius and Saint Joseph's, but lost to Binghamton.
On the defensive end of the field, sophomore goalie
Jackson Brown has started all 10 games and sports a 7-3 record, a .576 save percentage, and an 8.35 goals against average.  He's the fifth Statesman to win seven games in a season. Only one goalie in Hobart's Division I history (since 1995) has won more games in a single season. Dan Valente '05 went 9-7 in 2004, which is the last time the Statesmen earned an NCAA tournament bid. Brown is ranked in the top 20 in the country in save percentage (8th), saves per game (14th), and goals against average (17th).
Syracuse is 8-2 overall and ranked in the top 10 in the nation in 11 of the 15 statistical categories the NCAA tracks, including scoring offense (2nd, 15.2 gpg), faceoff winning percentage (2nd, .577), and scoring margin (3rd, +5.6). Junior attackman Dylan Donahue leads a potent offense with 35 goals and 49 points. He leads the nation in extra-man goals (12) and is fifth in goals per game (3.5) and eighth in points per game (4.9). Senior attackman Kevin Rice is right behind him with 48 points, including a team-high 28 assists. He's fourth in the country in assists per game (2.8) and ninth in points per game (4.8). Sophomore midfielder Ben Williams leads the nation in ground balls (105, 10.5/g) and is second in faceoff winning percentage (.686). Junior defenseman Brandon Mullins has a team-high 13 caused turnovers. Senior goalie Bobby Wardwell has an 8-2 record with a 9.02 GAA and a .524 save percentage.
