Two members of the Hobart College soccer team were honored by the Liberty League today. Senior
Hunter Critchlow was tabbed the Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week and first-year
Kyle Mangold was named the Rookie of the Week.
Critchlow scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Potsdam on Thursday night and anchored the Statesmen defense that notched shutout victories over both the Bears and Geneseo last week. Critchlow scored what proved to be the game winner just 17:40 into the game at Potsdam. The Hobart defense did not allow the Bears to get a single shot on goal. On Saturday, the Statesmen topped Geneseo 1-0 on Cozzens Field, limiting the Knights to just two shots on goal.
Mangold logged his first collegiate goal in the 1-0 win over Geneseo. His goal in the 32nd minute secured Hobart's second straight victory.
The Statesmen (2-2-1) open Liberty League play on Saturday, Sept. 23, when they travel to take on Skidmore at 3 p.m.
