The annual Great Heron 5K Road Race and 1-mile Fun Walk raise money for the fight against breast cancer. All race proceeds are donated to Embrace Your Sisters and the Finger Lakes Breast Cancer Support Group.
The 2009 race will begin at 9 a.m. on Sat., April 25. Registration is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., at the Hobart and William Smith Sport and Recreation Center. The 5-kilometer course is USATF/RRCA certified (#NY01051AM).
The entry fee is $15 for pre-registration, $20 after April 20. Free t-shirts will be given to the first 300 registered runners and first 50 registered walkers.
