The William Smith College varsity eight earned one of two at-large bids to the NCAA Division III Rowing Championship in Indianapolis, Ind., May 30-31.
The Heron varsity eight won its fourth consecutive Liberty League Championship, a third consecutive gold medal at the New York State Championships and won the petite final at the ECAC National Invitational Rowing Championships last weekend.

Six teams of a varsity eight and a second varsity eight will compete for the national championship. Bates and Washington (Md.) earned automatic bids as champions of the NESCAC and MARC conference, respectively. Additionally, two crews from Trinity, Wellesley, Wesleyan, and Williams received Pool B/C bids. Puget Sound earned the other at-large eight invitation.

William Smith has competed in five consecutive NCAA Championships, earning an at-large eight bid in 2010 followed by consecutive team bids in 2011, 2012, and 2013. The Heron varsity eight has earned a third place finish in the grand final in each of the past two seasons. Overall, William Smith will be making its 12th NCAA Championship appearance and second as an at-large eight.
Tickets for the 2014 NCAA Divisions I, II, and III Women's Rowing Championships are on sale to the general public. All-session and single-session adult and student/senior tickets can be purchased through
www.NCAA.com/tickets. The 2014 NCAA Rowing Championships will be held at the Indianapolis Rowing Center at Eagle Creek Park.
All-session tickets are $40 and all-session student/senior tickets are available for $25. Single-session tickets are available for $15 and single-session student/senior tickets are $10.
Notre Dame serves as the NCAA host institution for the championships at Eagle Creek in conjunction with Indiana Sports Corp and the Indianapolis Rowing Center.
