Hobart College first-year
Nick Broadwater was named the ECAC West's Rookie of the Week, after anchoring the Statesmen hockey team in goal in two league games over the weekend.
Broadwater collected 75 saves in two losses to then 11th-ranked Elmira. He broke the Hobart record for saves in a game, picking up 49 in a 3-2 loss to the Soaring Eagles on Friday night, and stopped 26 shots in a 2-0 defeat on Saturday. Keith Longo '09 and Adam Lavelle '04, by one.
Broadwater posted a .938 save percentage and a 2.56 goals against average on the weekend. He currently ranks second in the ECAC West in both save percentage (.923) and goals against average (2.35).
The Statesmen will be back on the ice on Nov. 29, when they travel to Cortland for a non-league game at 7 p.m.
